LLANDYSUL...

The Teifi Valley town of Llandysul is one of the most favoured localities in Wales both for freshwater angling and white-water canoeing.

Still milling...

Within this part of Ceredigion, water-driven flour and woollen mills - famous for their distinctive Welsh tapestries - are still to be seen at work although employing far fewer than in their heyday.

Before the days of the steam engine the rushing waters of the Teifi and its many tributaries drove dozens of waterwheels in this area. The importance of the mill industry may be judged by the fact that the National Museum of Wales's Museum of the Welsh Woollen Industry is located nearby at Drefach Felindre.

You can a pay a visit not only to the Museum of the Welsh Woollen industry but also to other remaining working mills in the area.

Cnapan...

"Cnapan" was an ancient ball game (similar to Rugby Union but involving far fewer rules!) played in this area long before William Webb Ellis decided to carry a ball in his hands.

Activities...

The Llandysul Paddlers Canoe Club offers courses in a wide range of activity pursuits including canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing and abseiling.

Visit the activities section for more information on walking and cycling.
