HALFORDS TOUR SERIES COMES TO ABERYSTWYTH - FRIDAY 25 MAY
A major televised professional cycle race around a challenging 1km closed street circuit in Aberystwyth, featuring top UK professional racing teams, including last year’s race winner and current Olympic champion Ed Clancy, fellow Olympian Steven Burke and the legendary Magnus Backstedt - Tour de France stage winner backed up by his team mate and local Aberystwyth professional Gruff Lewis, the 2011 Welsh road race and Criterium champion.Junior and top amateur races start at 2.00pm. Main event starts at 7.00 pm.

OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY THROUGH CEREDIGION - SUNDAY, 27 MAY
The Olympic Torch’s journey starts in Cardigan at 15:43 and heads north along the A487 for an overnight stop in Aberystwyth. The Torch will be carried through Cardigan, Sarnau, Brynhoffnant, Llanarth, Aberaeron, Llanon, Llanrhystud, Penparcau and Aberystwyth.On Monday morning, 28 May, the Torch will be carried through Aberystwyth and will head north out of the county through Bow Street, Talybont and Tre Taliesin.
